ABALIMI abafuya inkukhu zamaqanda sebekhuthazwe ngendlela ezingabaphathisa ekufuyeni inkukhu zabo njengoba ukutshisa okwedlulisileyo lezinsuku kungabalakho ukubangela ukuthi zehluleke ukubekela kwezinye izikhathi zicine zisifa.

UMnumzana Itai Shambambeva oyingcitshi kwezokulima lempilakahle yezifuyo uxwayise labo abafuye inkukhu zamaqanda ngendlela abanganakekela ngayo inkukhu zabo ukuze zingabulawa yi-heat stress.

“Ngalesi isikhathi sokutshisa, inkukhu zamaqanda ziyahlaselwa yi-heat stress. I-heat stress ibangela ukuthi inkukhu zamaqanda zicake njalo zingasabekeli kuhle.

“Inkukhu nxa kutshisa ziyahlukumezeka kakhulu ngoba zona aziginqi, yikho okwenza sibone inkukhu sezilengise impiko sezivule lemilomo.

Ziyabe zizama ukuthola umoya lokuthi ziphefumule kuhle. Nxa inkukhu lezi zingatshiselwa kakhulu zicina sezisehluleka ukudla, lokhu kuzenza zicine zisifa, lezinga lazo lokubekela liyehla, ziyabe sezibekela okungaphansi kwalokho okujwayelekileyo,” kulandisa uMnu Shambambeva.

“Ukuze senelise ukuvikela inkukhu zethu kulokhu abalimi kumele bananzelele ukuthi izilugu bazakhe njani lokuthi sizifulele njani. Ezilugwini inkukhu akumelanga ziminyane, kumele kungene umoya, uphahla lwezilugu kumele lufulelwe ngotshani,” kuchasisa uMnu Shambambeva.

Uthe inkukhu zamaqanda azidli kakhulu ngesikhathi sokutshisa kodwa zidinga amanzi amanengi okunatha.

“Lingancitshi inkukhu amanzi, lizithelele amanzi amanengi ukuze zingabulawa ngumhawu wokoma. Besokusithi ekudleni ngalesi isikhathi sokutshisa inkukhu zamaqanda zidla ngcono ukudla okubizwa ngokuthi yi-Pellet feed,” kuphetha uMnu Shambambeva.
