UKWAMUKELA indimi zonke eZimbabwe kungaba yinsika yokubambana kwezizalwane zakuleli ngesikhathi ilizwe lithakazelela iminyaka engamatshumi amathathu lanhlanu kwasungulwa isivumelwano sokubambana, esasayinwa mhlaka 22 Mpalakazi ngomnyaka ka1987.
Izikhwicamfundo lengcitshi zendimi zithe nxa wonke umuntu ekwazi ukuziveza ngolimi lwakhe lokuzalwa, kundaba eziphathelane lesizwe, ulimi lungaphathisa kakhulu ekugcineni ukuthula lokubumbana.
Njengoba ingoma ye-Black Umfolosi ethi Unity ilokhe isengqondweni zabantu, isidingo sokubambana lokuthula siba yize nxa izizalwane ziqhubeka ngokubukela phansi ezinye indimi.
Umqondo kaMongameli uMnangagwa othi “Ilizwe lakhiwa ngabaninilo” unxusa abantu beZimbabwe ukuthi bathathe inyathelo eliqondileyo lokwakha ilizwe labo okuhlanganisela lokwamukela indimi ezisemthethweni eziyi-16 ezihlonitshwa ngumthetho welizwe.
IZimbabwe ile ndimi ezisemthethweni eziyi-16, ezibalisa isiChewa, isiChibarwe, isiNgisi, isiKalanga, isiKhoisan, isiNambya, isiNdau, isiNdebele, isiShangani, isiXhosa, iSign language, isiSotho, isiTonga, isiTswana, isiVenda lesiShona.
Lezi zamukelwa kusisekelo sombuso ngo-2013.
Isivumelwano sokubambana sahlehlwa okweminyaka emibili phakathi kuka-1985 lo-1987 phakathi kweZanu-PF lePF-Zapu.
UDokotela Busani Maseko ofundisa eLupane State University uthe indimi yizo eziqinisa ukuthula lomanyano eZimbabwe.
“Ukwamukela ukuthi kulendimi ezinengi yikuvuma ukuthi sehlukene, futhi yilokho isivumelwano sokubambana okumele sibe yikho khona. Akumelanga sicabange nje kuphela ngesivumelwano sokubambana ngendlela yokubambana kwamaNdebele lamaShona kodwa ngomqondo obanzi wokufaka wonke umuntu. Kungaba ngokobuhlanga, ngokwepolitiki loba ngenye indlela,” kusho uDkt Maseko.
“Emphakathini olendimi ezahlukeneyo njengeZimbabwe, lapho okulendimi ezisemthethweni ezingu-16, ulimi lungaba yinsika yokubambana. Nxa kulalapho okukhethwa ulimi olulodwa, lwenziwe lube semthethweni kulezinye, lokho kungehlukanisa abantu. Kodwa, lapho okwamukelwa khona ukwehlukahlukana kwendimi, kuqinisa njalo kukhuthaze izizalwane.
Uthe abakhuluma indimi okuthiwa ngezikhulunywa linengi labantu, kumele bamukele indimi ebezincitshwe amathuba phambilini ukuze kuthuthukiswe isizwe.
“Kuzakwandisa ukuphatheka kwabo kungqubekela phambili, ezombusazwe lezomnotho lempilakahle. Ngakolunye uhlangothi, nxa ezinye indimi zingavezwa njengezisemthethweni kulezinye njalo ‘ezingezeZimbabwe’ ukwedlula ezinye, lokho kungadanisa abantu abangakhulumi lolo limi.”
UDokotela Omphile Marupi uthe ukunanza ukusayinwa kwesivumelwano somanyano weUnited Accord ngaphandle kokugoqela ezinye indimi akusoze kuzwakale kumizamo yeSecond Republic yokuvuselela ilizwe leZimbabwe.
Uthe njengoba esanda kuveza uMongameli Mnangagwa, indimi zeZimbabwe zidlala indima enkulu ekuthuthukiseni ilizwe kuVision 2030 kusiya phambili.
“Abantu baphupha ngendimi zabo zokuzalwa njalo babona umhlaba ungcono ngendimi zabo, ngakho-ke ukuphakamisa loba ukuthuthukisa zonke indimi zethu kuzasenza sithuthuke. ISecond Republic isihambe ibanga elide ekuthuthukiseni indimi zomdabu ngokuzifaka kuzifundo, kusukela ekukhuleni kwabantwana kuze kufike ezingeni lenyuvesi,” kutsho uDkt Marupi.
“Ukubambana esihlabela ngakho sikubabaza, yikho okuyisizatho esenze uHulumende wenza ngamabomu ukufaka imphakathi eyayikade inganakwa njengabaThwa abasuka eTsholotsho emsebenzini yabemthetho, loba bengelazo imfanelo zemfundo. Ukubambana esikufunayo yilapho esamukela khona zonke indimi zomdabu.”
